Dog Days of Summer

The days of summer are numbered. It’s been a memorable summer for my family and I. Nothing fills you with the wonder of things like spending time with a guy like Cole. These blogs are likely to be little more than an excuse for me to put up baby pictures for quite some time, but enough about me.

A new post is long overdue so here I am to fill you in on the GAP’s last few shows. June 6th was another great night at Hugh’s and proved a good opportunity to try out some new (and risky) material. We also took up our friend Julie on her offer to take some pictures of the band. Some great shots were captured but I have to say many of them begged the question, what is Jason looking at? In every group there’s always some wiseguy looking the other way. What can I say, he’s a rebel.

The following week we had the pleasure of appearing at the Burlington, Sound of Music festival. It was slightly odd playing between a fusion band and a rock icon but the crowd was a supportive one and a good number gathered to enjoy our set.  There were even a few familiar faces who trekked all the way out to Burlington to join us. Good work folks. Likewise for our Show at Yonge-Dundas Square on July 5th. I was nervous we might play that day to a half-dozen business people eating their sandwiches but I was pleasantly surprised to see so many people make it out in the middle of the day.

After this cluster of gigs close together I think we’re all eager to keep playing regularly (each time is more fun than the last) so keep checking to see when we’re playing next.  While you’re at it shoot us an e-mail to get on the list or just to say hello or maybe to demand a song that has to be GAPed. Or to give us our next gig.

Enjoy the last moments of summer, Tory
